Andreas Shkreli is een Griekse fotograaf die een paar jaar terug in Oostende is komen wonen.
De tentoonstelling werd opgebouwd rond drie reeksen:
Bonjour Flanders:
Andreas bestudeert zijn nieuwe thuishaven: Vlaanderen. Hij probeert te begrijpen waar hij terecht is gekomen. Dat doet hij voortreffelijk, zonder vooroordelen. Hij legt de omgeving vast en vertelt over de relatie tussen de omgeving/landschappen en de mensen daarin aanwezig.
Inaccessibe World : Tattoo shop in Thessaloníki.
Hier legt Andrea krachtige beelden vast van een zeer ontoegankelijke wereld waar andere regels en wetten gelden. Geen tattoo shop waar men een ankertje op de enkel laat tatoeëren, neen, een hard-core tattoo salon waar vooral gemarginaliseerde minderheden komen. Sommige beelden zijn niet voor gevoelige kijkers; deze reeks werd bekroond met de eerste prijs New Photographers, Kythera Photographic encounters Award in Griekenland 2011.
Transforming the Ephemeral Everyday Life:
Een andere kijk op alledaagse taferelen, hoofdzakelijk reflecties. Dialogen tussen objecten en hun omgeving. Genomen als experiment met smartphone in een polaroid omgeving om de vluchtigheid ervan te accentueren. Het vergt tijd en geduld om te kijken, te anticiperen en uiteindelijk af te drukken. Kwaliteiten die wij sterk waarderen in de man die fotografie ‘ademt’ en beelden betekenis geeft.

Andreas Shkreli is a Greek photographer who came to live in Ostend a few years ago. The exhibition in Exposure Value was built around three series:
Bonjour Flanders
Andreas is studying his new home: Flanders. He tries to understand where he ended up. He does that excellently, without prejudice. He records the environment and tells about the relationship between the environment / landscapes and the people present in it.
Inaccessibe World: Tattoo shop in Thessaloníki.
Here Andrea captures powerful images of a very inaccessible world where different rules and laws are applied. Not a tattoo shop where one gets an anchor tattooed on the ankle, no, a hard-core tattoo parlor where mainly marginalized minorities come. Some images are not for sensitive viewers; this series was awarded 1st prize New Photographers, Kythera Photographic encounters Award (GR) in 2011.
Transforming the Ephemeral Everyday Life
A different view of everyday scenes, mainly reflections. Dialogues between objects and their environment. Taken as an experiment with a smartphone in a Polaroid environment to accentuate its volatility.
It takes time and patience to watch, anticipate, and ultimately press the button. Qualities that we greatly value in the man who "breathes" photography and gives meaning to images.
