Het is de bedoeling “pure” portretten te maken van een zo groot mogelijke verscheidenheid aan mensen. Typerend in haar werk is de manier waarop zij haar modellen in geënsceneerde situaties in de realiteit plaatst. Door een specifiek licht, kleurgebruik en een juiste momentopname creëert ze een sfeerbeeld waarin de personages overgaan in de ruimte.
From her own experience and commitment to the increasingly positive evolution in terms of diversity in our society, Kim Vlaeminck is building a series of portraits around identity. The aim is to make “pure” portraits of the widest possible variety of people. The way in which she places her models in staged situations in reality is typical for her work. Through a specific light, use of color and a correct capture of the moment, she creates an atmospheric image in which the characters merge into the space.
